A Street in Itaewon

Itaewon is the well known shopping district in Seoul. The Itaewon shopping area
covers a 1.4 km long street, stretching from Itaewon 1-dong eastwards to Hannam
2-dong. The area has a vibrant ambience with shops, restaurants, bars and street
vendors. Most signboards are written in English, and often seen are English speaking
people on the street. If you visit South Korea, then you must visit Itaewon !

it is the first time that I manage to capture some of the sceneries here. The weather is very
cold and most of the pictures are taken from a car.

Le Tour de Langkawi 2008

The last stage of Le Tour de Langkawi was held in Kuala Lumpur. It is called the Kuala Lumpur
Cretarium and begins in front of the historical landmark of the Sultan Abdul Samad building
fronting the Royal Selangor Club. The first turn will see the peloton going by the Central Market
– a venue for local arts and handicrafts before whizzing into the Central Business District of
Kuala Lumpur. A little further down would be the Petronas Twin Towers located within the
Kuala Lumpur City Centre and then to the old part of the city with its quaint pre-war shop
houses which is Jalan Raja Laut to finish where it all started. (www.tdl.com.my)

A late afternoon view of a fishing village in Bagan Pasir, Kuala Selangor. Bagan Pasir is located about
2km from the town of Kuala Selangor. It is renowed as a fishing village and also a haven for seafood lovers.

The Kuala Selangor town is quite a historical site. It prospered during the early years of the 14th century.
Brisk trading with seafarers and trade merchants made the town a household name and an important docking
point. Trading route maps of the early Chinese merchants indicated the locations of the Klang River and the
Selangor delta. It was believed that these were the maps used during the days when Admiral Cheng Ho (1405
1433) was sent to Melaka by the Ming Emperor to seal diplomatic relationships with the Malay rulers for a

Fraser's Hill is named after a Scottish pioneer, James Fraser, who set up a tin-ore

trading post in the 1890s. It sits 1,500 meters above sea-level on the Titiwangsa

mountain range that form the backbone of Peninsular Malaysia. For nature lovers

and birdwatchers, Fraser's Hill boasts several nature trails which ranges from half

kilometer to five kilometers. Among the nature trails in Fraser's Hill are Hemmant

Trail, Maxwell Trail, mager Trail, Kindersley Trail, Bishop's Trail and Abu Suradi Trail.

which occurs during the months of November until February. During this period,
fishermen cannot go out to the sea and they opt for other chores while

The month of Ramadhan is coming to an end. Muslims from all over the world

will celebrate the day of Eid ul-Fitr. For Muslims, Eid ul-Fitr is a joyous occasion

with important religious significance, celebrating of the achievement of

enhanced piety. It is a day of forgiveness, moral victory, peace of congregation,

fellowship, brotherhood and unity. Muslims celebrate not only the end of fasting,

but also thank Allah for the help and strength that they believe He gave them

throughout the previous month to help them practice self-control. It is a time of

giving and sharing, and many Muslims dress in holiday attire.

The Masjid Sultan Abdul Samad is located near to the Kuala Lumpur

International Airport. The majestic and beautiful masjid serves

as a worshipping place for locals and travellers. The construction

of the masjid began in 1999 and was completed in 2000.

It was officially opened in 2001 by the Sultan of Selangor,

Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
